1. Suspension of the supercomputer service
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
Due to a scheduled power outage and maintenance, our services will be suspended as below.
○Date and time: 6:30 a.m. on Mon. October 9 - 9:30 a.m. on Wed. October 11
○Services to be suspended: System A, B, C, E, ENVI/IDL licensing, HPCI account services,
Large-Format Printer, and User Portal
Supercomputer service is not available for the above period.
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation in advance.

2. 【Special Seminar】Cray XC40 Programming Seminar
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
At the Academic Center for Computing and Media Studies, Kyoto University (ACCMS),
we are regularly holding programming seminars for the efficient use
and the improvement of the programming skills for users.
At the seminar on October 2, we invite a lecturer from Cray USA headquarters,
and give lectures on the Cray XC40 programming environment.

3. Call for proposals of research project using HPCI computing resources for FY 2018
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
Academic Center for Computing and Media Studies, Kyoto University (ACCMS) is participating in the HPCI
which is intended to provide a framework and structure so that users of high performance computing (HPC)
who tend to be isolated locally can efficiently utilize the nation-wide high performance computing resources.
Guideline of call for proposals of research project using HPCI computing resources for FY 2018 is as follows.
Please apply within a period if you wish.
Start of call ：Tue. September 5, 2017
Start of the application submission ：Thu. October 5, 2017
Deadline of the application submission ：Tue. November 7, 2017 at 17:00 (JST)
Deadline of mailing of the printed application forms：Must arrive no later than Tue. November 21, 2017
Announcement of awarding results ：The beginning of February 2018
Start of the project use ：April 1, 2018

4. ACCMS seminar “Application of machine learning for natural and computational science”（Reposting）

Academic Center for Computing and Media Studies (ACCMS), Kyoto University
is holding a monthly seminar inviting an active lecturer in various fields
who introduce each research activities and current issues
as a place to discuss widely with the participants.
