1.     Announcement of ANSYS license renewal    

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

Along with changes in license terms of ANSYS,

the licenses and the target users of ANSYS that can be used on supercomputers

are changed as follows.

 

Until October 31st (Wednesday)

Software: ANSYS Academic Teaching Mechanical and CFD

Target users: Organizations that has agreed on the application user consortium arrangement

 

From November 1st (Thursday)

Software: ANSYS Academic Research Mechanical and CFD

Target users: Members of Kyoto University

 

Due to updates of the license server from 1:00 p.m. on Wed. October 31 to 1:00 p.m. on Thu. November 1,

you may not be able to acquire the license temporarily.

 

We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause to you.

2.     Additional call for application of FY 2018 service course (start on December)

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

We are additionally calling for the application of FY 2018 service course

starting from December 2018 in the following schedule.

Please note that we may ask you to adjust the amount of resources that you request

depending on the situation since each course has its limitation in available computing resources.

We appreciate for your understanding and cooperation.

 

Courses:

  - Group course (Type A1, A2, A3)

  - Personal course (Type A)

  - Large-scale job course (From December to February)

 

Application periodFrom Thu. November 1 to Tue. November 20 at 5:00 p.m.

Billing of the usage fee of January is determined as of Wed. Dec 12 at 5:00 p.m. and will be processed.

Please note that the application after the due date will be charged in March.

In addition, changing the payment item also should be done by the due date.

6.     Call for proposals of research project using HPCI computing resources in FY 2019Reposting

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

Academic Center for Computing and Media Studies, Kyoto University (ACCMS) is participating in the HPCI,

which is intended to provide a framework and structure so that users of high performance computing (HPC)

who tend to be isolated locally can efficiently utilize the nation-wide high performance computing resources.

 

Guideline of call for proposals of research project using HPCI computing resources in FY 2019 is as follows.

Please apply within a period if you wish.

"OME's Bio-Formats, OMERO, & IDR: Open Tools for Accessing, Integrating, Mining and Publishing Image Data @ Scale"

Academic Center for Computing and Media Studies (ACCMS) holds a seminar

once in a month.

We are inviting active researchers from a variety of areas,

and ask them to give talks about their research activity or issues in performing research,

hoping to provide an opportunity for fruitful discussion among participants.

 

At Special ACCMS Seminar on October 26, 2018, we invite Prof. Jason Swedlow
