1.     Service suspension for the maintenance at the end of the fiscal yearReposting

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

The supercomputer service in the FY 2017 will be terminated as below.

After the completion of the maintenance work to switch to the new fiscal year,

services in the FY 2018 will start from 9:30 a.m. on Tue. April 3, 2018

except for the System A which will start from 9:30 on Thu. April 5, 2018.

 

Please note that we will cancel the remaining jobs of the supercomputer

at the time of the service termination.

 

We appreciate for your understanding and cooperation in advance.

2.     File assets of non-continuation users

We will delete files of non-continuation users of FY 2018 from June 2018.

Please migrate and backup necessary file assets by the end of May.

3.     Call for Application of FY2018 Service Course (2nd Stage)

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

We are calling for the application of the service course for FY 2018 in the following schedule.

Please note that we may ask you to adjust the amount of resources that you request

depending on the situation since each course has its limitation

in available computing resources.

4.     Call for Collaborative Research Project for Young /Women scientists for FY 2018

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

Academic Center for Computing and Media Studies, Kyoto University (ACCMS)

calls for proposals of the Collaborative Research Project for scientists listed below

as part of “The Joint Usage/Research Center for Interdisciplinary Large-scale

Information Infrastructures (JHPCN)” activities.

Young researchers under the age of 40 as of April 1, 2018 (including students)

Women researchers (regardless of ages)

 

Submitted proposals are reviewed by "Supercomputer System Collaborative Research

Planning Committee" of ACCMS and a committee of JHPCN,

then about twenty proposals are adopted.

ACCMS bears entire or part of the usage fees of the adopted proposals.

Awarded researchers are required to submit research reports by the end of the fiscal year,

to acknowledge their use of this system when publishing the achievements in papers,

and to contribute an article on their research results to our Center News

(Inter-University Services Bulletin). In addition, we require their cooperation for

JHPCN activities such as a presentation at the JHPCN symposium.

5.     Call for Collaborative Research Project for Large-Scale Computation for FY 2018 (2nd Period)

Academic Center for Computing and Media Studies, Kyoto University (ACCMS)

calls for proposals of the Collaborative Research Project

on large-scale computing programs for research groups

that uses the supercomputer system through personal course, group course

or private cluster course (including under application) in FY 2018.

Submitted proposals are reviewed by "Supercomputer System Collaborative Research

Planning Committee” of ACCMS.

As for the adopted proposals, ACCMS bears the usage fee

of the large-scale job course within a certain amount.

calls for proposals of the Collaborative Research Project

for Enhancing Performance of Programming for research groups that uses

the supercomputer system through group course or private cluster course

(including under application) in FY 2018.

 

Submitted proposals are reviewed by "Supercomputer System Collaborative Research

Planning Committee" of ACCMS.

The programs adopted by the committee are carried out to enhance

the program performance in collaboration with ACCMS.

ACCMS bears the cost of the program development.

once in a month.

 

We are inviting active researchers from a variety of areas,

and ask them to give talks about their research activity or issues in performing research,

hoping to provide an opportunity for fruitful discussion among participants.

 

On an ACCMS seminar at March 26th, we invite Prof. Okada at JAIST

and Prof. Fukuhara at Institution for a Global Society / Hitotsubashi University.

 

We hope to have a lot of participants.
