1. Additional call for application of FY 2018 service course (start on November)
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
We are additionally calling for the application of FY 2018 service course
starting from November 2018 in the following schedule.
Please note that we may ask you to adjust the amount of resources that you request
depending on the situation since each course has its limitation in available computing resources.
We appreciate for your understanding and cooperation.
〇Courses:
- Group course (Type A1, A2, A3)
- Personal course (Type A)
- Large-scale job course (From November to January)
〇Application period：From Mon. October 1 to Sat. October 20 at 5:00 p.m.
〇Estimated starting date of the service：Thu. November 1, 2018

2. Suspension of the supercomputer service
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
Due to a scheduled power outage and maintenance, our services will be suspended as below.
〇Date and time：9:00 a.m. on Mon. October 8 - 9:30 a.m. on Fri. October 12
〇Services to be suspended：System A
〇Date and time：9:00 a.m. on Mon. October 8 - 1:00 p.m. on Wed. October 10
〇Services to be suspended：System B and C, ENVI/IDL licensing, HPCI account services,
Large-Format Printer, and User Portal
Supercomputer service is not available for the above period.

3. Call for proposals of research project using HPCI computing resources in FY 2019
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
Academic Center for Computing and Media Studies, Kyoto University (ACCMS) is participating in the HPCI,
which is intended to provide a framework and structure so that users of high performance computing (HPC)
who tend to be isolated locally can efficiently utilize the nation-wide high performance computing resources.
Guideline of call for proposals of research project using HPCI computing resources in FY 2019 is as follows.
Please apply within a period if you wish.
Start of the call ：Tue. September 4, 2018
Start of the application submission ：Thu. October 4, 2018
Deadline of the application submission ：Tue. November 6, 2018 at 5:00 p.m. (JST)
Deadline of mailing of the printed application forms：Must arrive no later than Tue. November 20, 2018
Announcement of awarding results ：The beginning of February 2019
Start of the project use ：April 1, 2019

4. ACCMS seminar "Advanced use of agriculture, forestry and fisheries statistics Ⅱ"
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
Academic Center for Computing and Media Studies (ACCMS), Kyoto University
is holding a monthly seminar inviting an active lecturer in various fields
who introduce each research activities and current issues
as a place to discuss widely with the participants.
At ACCMS Seminar on October 16, 2018, we invite Seitaro Tanimichi of Statistic Bureau,
Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications and Hiroyuki Miyakawa of Census Statistics Office,
Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries.
We look forward to your participation.
External participants are also welcome.
