1. Service Hours During Year-End and New Year Holidays
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
The computing service during the year-end and New Year holidays will be as follows.
○Supercomputer Systems:
Services are available throughout the year-end and New Year holidays.
○The Large-Format Printer:
The room will be closed at 5:00 p.m. on Mon. December 28, 2020 and
will be opened at 9:00 a.m. on Mon. January 4, 2021.
As for the inquiries during the period, we will correspond sequentially
after January 4, 2021.
We appreciate for your understanding and cooperation in advance.

2. Supercomputer Continuation Application to the following FY2021
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
We will send "Supercomputer User List" listed users name of this fiscal year
to the payment managers in late January.
If there are no changes in your application,
you can easily apply for continuing the service by checking
"continuation" in the "Supercomputer User List" and returning it to us.
If there are any changes in the application, please note that
an " Application Form for Large Scale Computer Systems" (計算機利用申請書) must be submitted.
The deadline for returning the continuation application form is
at 5:00 p.m. on Fri. February 19, 2021.

*** Notes ***
○ You may not be able to start the service in April if you cannot submit
the continuation application form in time. Please apply before the deadline.
○ By making the continuation application, the user number (login ID) will be
continuously registered as an entry course.
If you wish to use group course or personal course, you need to submit
a "Service Course Application Form" (サービス申請書).
Please make sure to apply.
○Previously, we had mailed the notice for the continuation application to users as well,
however, we had abolished the notice by mail to users since last year.
Please share the notice and information directed to the payment managers with related users.

3. Call for Application for FY 2021 Service Course (1st Stage)
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
We call for application for FY 2021 Service Course starting from April 2021
in the following schedule.
This call for applications will be handled differently in terms of usage fees,
payment items and periods etc., because it is between fiscal years.
Please note that we may ask you to adjust the amount of resources
since each course has its limitation in available computing resources.
We appreciate for your understandings and cooperation in advance.
○Courses to be opened ・Application Period
Private Cluster Course, Organization Fixed Rate:From Tue. January 12, 2021 to Fri. February 12, 2021 No later than 5:00 p.m.
Group Course, Personal Course :From Tue. January 12, 2021 to Wed. February 24, 2021 No later than 5:00 p.m.
Large-Scale Job Course (From April to June) :From Tue. January 12, 2021 to Wed. February 24, 2021 No later than 5:00 p.m.

4. 【Important】Notification of the change in the method of sending Approval Notice and Registration Confirmation Notice(Reposting)
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
In response to the recent difficulties in receiving mails due to increased opportunities
to work from home, we abolish the mailing of the Approval Notice (for users)
and Registration Confirmation Notice (for payment managers)
and change the method to download it yourself for applications after December 1, 2020.
Specifically, when you use the service for the first time,
please follow the procedure below.
When you use the service for the first time (for users):
1) Receive the Registration Completion Notice by email and confirm the user number.
2) Request for the procedure to start the service from the user portal
3) Open the one-time URL which is sent to your registered email address
and download the Approval Notice and set the password.
4) After that, you can log in to the user portal by the password authentication.
(Continuously, please set the public key authentication, etc.)
If you are already using our service, you can continue to use it without affected by the change,
but we will not mail the Approval Notice when you apply for the additional applications
for this fiscal year or continuation applications for the next fiscal year.
You can download the latest Approval Notice after addition/change
from the confirmation page of the registration information in the user portal.
We apologize for any inconvenience, and appreciate for your understanding and cooperation.

5. Call for proposal of Joint Usage and Research of JHPCN in FY 2021(Reposting)
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
JHPCN calls for proposal of joint usage and research in fiscal year 2021.
JHPCN is a "Network-Type" Joint Usage/Research Center, certified by
the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology,
and comprises eight super-computer equipped centers
affiliated with Hokkaido University, Tohoku University, The University of Tokyo,
Tokyo Institute of Technology, Nagoya University, Kyoto University, Osaka University
and Kyushu University, among which Information Technology Center at
the University of Tokyo is functioning as the core institution of JHPCN.
Each JHPCN member institution will provide its research resources
for joint research projects.

so if you are willing to give us your feedback,

7. ACCMS seminar(Online)"Educational Reform through the Use of Educational Data: Future Prospects Based on the Past Practical Knowledge"
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
ACCMS holds a seminar once in a month.
We are inviting active researchers from variety of areas,
and ask them to give talks about their research activity or issues in performing research,
hoping to provide an opportunity for fruitful discussion among participants.
At ACCMS Seminar on January 19, 2021, lectures and panel discussions will be held
titled "Educational Reform through the Use of Educational Data: Future Prospects Based on the Past Practical Knowledge".
We are looking forward to the participation of many people both inside and outside the university.
