1.     Notification of the Software Update

The Supercomputer Systems have been updated upon the completion

of the year-end maintenance work started on March 30, 2021.

Newly introduced software information and changes in configuration files

are described.

2.     The result of Satisfaction Survey (FY2020)

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

We have carried out a satisfaction survey (throughout FY2020) regarding

the use of our supercomputers for the period from October 1st, 2020

to March 29, 2021 and received 91 answers.

Based on the survey results, we will strive to improve our service quality.

3.     Call for Application of FY2021 Service Course (2nd Stage)(Reposting)

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

We are calling for the application of the service course for FY2021 in the following schedule.

Please note that we may ask you to adjust the amount of resources that you request

depending on the situation since each course has its limitation

in available computing resources.

We appreciate for your understanding and cooperation.

5.     Request for file backups for users who end the use of the supercomputer service at the end of FY2020 (Reposting)

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

Users who end the use of the supercomputer service at the end of FY2020

are required to back up their files themselves.

They will not be able to login to the system after the service termination,

however, file migration (sftp) will be available until the end of May.

6.     Acceptance of Online Applications for the Supercomputer SystemsReposting

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

We are pleased to announce that we have started accepting online applications

for the supercomputer systems, instead of the paper applications

which had been submitted by mail.

 

To submit your application online,

please scan and convert the completed and stamped application form into a PDF file,

and submit it from the form at the following URL.

There is no need to submit the original documents by mail.

Please note that some of the fields for stamps on the application form

have been omitted to correspond with the start of the online submission,

so please obtain the latest application form to submit online.

7.     ImportantNotification of the change in the method of sending Approval Notice and Registration Confirmation Notice (Reposting)

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

In response to the recent difficulties in receiving mails due to increased opportunities

to work from home, we abolish the mailing of the Approval Notice (for users)

and Registration Confirmation Notice (for payment managers)

and change the method to download it yourself for applications after December 1, 2020.

 

Specifically, when you use the service for the first time,

please follow the procedure below.

 

When you use the service for the first time (for users):

1) Receive the Registration Completion Notice by email and confirm the user number.

2) Request for the procedure to start the service from the user portal

3) Open the one-time URL which is sent to your registered email address

   and download the Approval Notice and set the password.

4) After that, you can log in to the user portal by the password authentication.

(Continuously, please set the public key authentication, etc.)

 

If you are already using our service, you can continue to use it without affected by the change,

but we will not mail the Approval Notice when you apply for the additional applications

for this fiscal year or continuation applications for the next fiscal year.

 

You can download the latest Approval Notice after addition/change

from the confirmation page of the registration information in the user portal.

 

We apologize for any inconvenience and appreciate for your understanding and cooperation.
