1. Suspension of the supercomputer service associated with the power outage
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
Please be informed that our supercomputer services will be suspended
during the following period due to scheduled power outage.
○Date and time: 6:00 a.m. on Sat. March 5th - 9:00 a.m. on Sun. March 6
○Services to be suspended: System A, B and C, ENVI/IDL licensing, HPCI account services,
Large-Format Printer, and User Portal
Supercomputer services is not available for the above period.
We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

2. Service suspension for the maintenance at the end of the fiscal year
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
The supercomputer service of FY2021 will be terminated as below.
After the completion of the maintenance work to switch to the new fiscal year,
services of FY2022 will start from 1:00 p.m. on Mon. April 4, 2022.
Please note that we will cancel the remaining jobs of the supercomputer
at the time of the service termination.
We appreciate for your understanding and cooperation in advance.
〇Date and Time：From 9:00 a.m. Wed. March 30, 2022 to 1:00 p.m. Mon. April 4, 2022
〇Services to be Suspended：System A,B and C, ENVI/IDL License Service, HPCI Account Service,

3. Request for submitting user reports of the supercomputer systems
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
Please report your published research results such as papers
(including abstracts of conference presentations) which you have obtained
by using the Large Scale Computer Systems of ACCMS in this fiscal year
in one of the following ways.
Please report unpublished papers as soon as they are published.

4. Application Guideline of Collaborative Research Project for Large-Scale Computation in FY2022 (1st Period)
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
ACCMS calls for proposals of the Collaborative Research Project for Large-Scale Computation in FY2022.
This project is for users of the Personal Course, Group Course or Private Cluster Course
(including those who are in application process).
Submitted proposals are reviewed by Supercomputer System Collaborative Research Planning Committee,
and the ACCMS bears the usage fee of the large-scale job course within a certain amount for the adopted proposal..
The usage period of this call is from April to June in 2022.

5. Application Guideline of Advanced Large-scale Computing System Service (for private organizations) in FY2022 (1st Period)
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
ACCMS calls for proposals of the Advanced Large-scale Computing System Service in FY2022.
This project is for private organizations and aimed at promoting strategic
and efficient research development by researchers of industry, government
and academia utilizing supercomputer.

6. Call for Collaborative Research Project for Young/Women scientists for FY2022
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
ACCMS calls for proposals of the Collaborative Research Project for scientists listed below
as part of “The Joint Usage/Research Center for Interdisciplinary Large-scale
Information Infrastructures (JHPCN)” activities.
○Young researchers under the age of 40 as of April 1, 2022 (including students)
○Women researchers (regardless of ages)
Submitted proposals are reviewed by "Supercomputer System Collaborative Research
Planning Committee" of ACCMS and a committee of JHPCN and superior proposals are adopted.
ACCMS bears entire or part of the usage fees for the adopted proposals.
Awarded researchers are required to submit research reports by the end of the fiscal year,
acknowledge their use of this system when publishing the achievements in papers,
and contribute an article on their research results to our Center News
(Inter-University Services Bulletin).
In addition, the active cooperation for JHPCN activities
such as a presentation at the JHPCN symposium are required.

7. Supercomputer Continuation Application to the following FY2022（Reposting）
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
We will send "Supercomputer Users List" listed users name of this fiscal year
to the payment managers in late January.
If there are no changes in your application contents,
you can easily apply for continuing the service by checking
"continuation" in the "Supercomputer Users List" and returning it to us.
If there are any changes in the application contents, please note that
an " Application Form for Large Scale Computer Systems" (計算機利用申請書)
must be submitted.
The deadline for returning the continuation application form is
at 5:00 p.m. on Fri. February 18, 2022.

*** Notes ***
○ You may not be able to start the service in April if you cannot submit
the continuation application form in time. Please apply before the deadline.
○ By making the continuation application, the user number (login ID) will be
continuously registered as an entry course.
If you wish to use group course or personal course, you need to submit
a "Service Course Application Form" (サービス申請書).
Please make sure to apply.
○Previously, we had mailed the notice for the continuation application to users as well,
however, we had abolished the notice by mail to users since last year.
Please share the notice and information directed to the payment managers with related users.

8. Call for Application for FY 2022 Service Course (1st Stage)
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
We call for application for FY 2022 Service Course starting from April 1st, 2022
in the following schedule.
Please note that we may ask you to adjust the amount of resources
since each course has its limitation in available computing resources.
Additionally, please note that the current supercomputer system is scheduled
to terminate the service on Fri. July 15, 2022 and be replaced to a new system.
We appreciate for your understandings and cooperation in advance.
○Courses to be opened ・Application Period
Private Cluster Course, Organization Fixed Rate：From Wed. January 12, 2022, to Fri. February 11, 2022, No later than 5:00 p.m.
Group Course, Personal Course ：From Wed. January 12, 2022, to Thu. February 24, 2022, No later than 5:00 p.m.
Large-Scale Job Course (From April to June) ：From Wed. January 12, 2022, to Thu. February 24, 2022, No later than 5:00 p.m.

9. Replacement Schedule of the New Supercomputer System（Reposting）
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
Our center is scheduled to terminate the service of a current supercomputer system
on Fri. July 15, 2022, and replace to a new system.
We are currently in the process of procuring the new system to operate
the new system in October 2022, however, we are unable to provide
any definite information at this time.

The definite information is expected to be released around April 2022.

The recent global shortage of semiconductors has caused price increase
and delays in the delivery of the equipment and the situation
have a significant impact on the procurement schedule for the new system.
Depending on the situation, the operation of the successor to the current
system A (Camphor2) may be delayed, and we may provide only the successor
to the current systems B and C (Laurel2 and Cinnamon2) and
small-scale systems equipped with an accelerator as of October 2022.
However we expect to operate the successor of the current system A in early 2023,
please consider ensuring computing resources by using supercomputers of
other universities' infrastructure centers, cloud services, etc.
if necessary since we may not be able to provide sufficient computing resources until then.
We apologize for any inconvenience caused by the system replacement.

10. Disclosure of the failure status of the compute node（Reposting）
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
We have started to disclose the failure information of compute nodes
and affected job IDs on the following website.
https://web.kudpc.kyoto-u.ac.jp/problems
If a failure of the compute node is suspected,
please enter the job ID in the input field of the website.
If a job is terminated abnormally (or re-executed) due to the compute node,
the failure information which caused the failure will be displayed.

11. Call for Collaborative Research Project for FX700 "Trial Use" and "Small Node Use" for FY2021（Reposting）
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
ACCMS calls for proposals of the collaborative research project
for the “Trial Use" and the "Small Node Use" of the Fujitsu FX700
which is equipped with the same ARM processor as the supercomputer Fugaku
for research groups using our supercomputer with the Group Course in the fiscal year 2021.
The "Trial Use" of FX700 is intended to be widely tried by the users of our supercomputer
by making the application form simple.
The research report is also simplified and only operation report and performance report
of the executed application are required.
The collaborative research project for the "Small Node Use" will be adopted
from users who have already finished the operation confirmation of the application
on the "FX700 Trial Use". Submitted proposals are reviewed
by Supercomputer System Collaborative Research Planning Committee.
If your proposal is adopted, you will be required to submit a research report.
There is no cost burden for using this project.
Deadline for application submission: 5:00 p.m. on the 15th of each month
