1.     Call for Application for FY2024 Service Course

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

The first call for applications for the supercomputer service course for FY2024

is scheduled to start in late January or early February.

 

We are scheduled to revise usage fees based on changes in the electricity costs

of this fiscal year. We will provide detailed information as soon as

the new regulations for usage fees are ready.

 

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

2.     Application for the continued use of the Supercomputer Service

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

 The supercomputer users list" which can be used for procedures

for those who will continue to use the supercomputer service in the next fiscal year,

will be available for download from the "User Portal" from Mon. January 15, 2024.

 

If you are a payment manager, you can download the supercomputer users list which

linked to your own budget and use it as an application form as it is.

 

The application period for the continued use based on the supercomputer users list

is as follows. Please complete the procedures within the following period.

 

 Mon. January 15, 2024 - Thu. February 29, 2024

3.     Online Consultation Briefing for the Supercomputer Collaborative Research Project

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

ACCMS will hold an online consultation briefing

for the Supercomputer Collaborative Research Project.

 

We are scheduled to call for proposals of three types of the collaborative research project for

Enhancing Performance of Programming, Large-Scale Computation, and YoungWomen Scientists.

ACCMS will bear all or part of the usage fees of the supercomputer,

or the cost of the Enhancing Performance of Programming.

We look forward to your participation.

4.     Service Hours During New Year Holidays

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

The computing service during the new year holidays will be as follows.

 

Supercomputer Systems/Cloud Services

The supercomputer system and the cloud services will be available

during the new year holidays.

 

The Large-Format Printer:

The service will be closed at 5:00 p.m. on Thu. December 28, 2023 and

be resumed at 9:00 a.m. on Thu. January 4, 2024.

 

Inquiries during this period will be handled sequentially after January 4, 2024.

5.     Call for proposal of Joint Usage and Research of JHPCN in FY 2024Reposting

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

JHPCN calls for proposal of joint usage and research in fiscal year 2024.

JHPCN is a "Network-Type" Joint Usage/Research Center, certified by

the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology,

and comprises eight supercomputer equipped centers

affiliated with Hokkaido University, Tohoku University, The University of Tokyo,

Tokyo Institute of Technology, Nagoya University, Kyoto University, Osaka University

and Kyushu University, among which Information Technology Center at

the University of Tokyo is functioning as the core institution of JHPCN.

Each JHPCN member institution will provide its research resources

for joint research projects.

6.     Call for Collaborative Research Project for FX700 "Trial Use" and "Small Node Use" for FY2023Reposting

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

ACCMS calls for proposals of the collaborative research project

for the “Trial Use" and the "Small Node Use" of the Fujitsu FX700

which is equipped with the same ARM processor as the supercomputer Fugaku

for research groups using our supercomputer with the Group Course in the fiscal year 2023.

 

The "Trial Use" of FX700 is intended to be widely tried by the users of our supercomputer

by making the application form simple.

The research report is also simplified and only operation report and performance report

of the executed application are required.

 

The collaborative research project for the "Small Node Use" will be adopted

from users who have already finished the operation confirmation of the application

on the "FX700 Trial Use". Submitted proposals are reviewed

by Supercomputer System Collaborative Research Planning Committee.

If your proposal is adopted, you will be required to submit a research report.

There is no cost burden for using this project.

 

     Deadline for application submission: 5:00 p.m. on the 20th of each month

7.     ACCMS Seminar"University ICT Supported by Collaboration"Reposting

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

ACCMS holds monthly seminars inviting researchers who are active in variety of fields

to give talks about their research activity or current issues

and provide an opportunity to discuss them with participants.

 

At ACCMS Seminar on January 16, 2024, we will invite Mr. Toshiaki Takagi of

National Federation of University Co-operative Associations

and Prof. Yoshiaki Fukazawa of Waseda University to give talks.

 

 We are looking forward to your participation from both inside and outside

of the university.
