1. Notification of the Software Update
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
The Supercomputer Systems have been updated upon the completion
of the year-end maintenance work started on March 27, 2024.
Newly introduced software information and changes in configuration files
are described.

2. The result of Satisfaction Survey (FY2023)
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
We have carried out a satisfaction survey regarding
the use of our supercomputers for the period from February 16, 2024
to March 29, 2024 and received 50 answers.
Based on the survey results, we will strive to improve our service quality.

3. Notification of the Programming Seminar in FY2024
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
ACCMS is regularly holding programming seminars for the efficient use
and the improvement of the programming skills for users.
Seminar on "Basics of supercomputer system" has been held on-site in the late April
every year, however, we are going to change the style to the on-demand streaming
from this fiscal year.

4. Trial Use of High-Speed Storage
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
The large volume disc /LARGE0 and /LARGE1 are configured with
a large number of HDDs and have both large capacity and high throughput,
however, high-speed storage is configured with SSDs and has high throughput.
We will continue to provide the high-speed storage with group course users
and personal course users for a trial period in 2024 following 2023.
We provide 500 GB with the personal course users and 400 GB to 1000 GB per node
(depending on the type) with the group course users.
For details on available capacity, please enter quota -p on the login node.
※If you have already applied for additional high-speed storage,
we will add the capacity to the amount you have applied for.
Please take advantage of it for running applications that require high I/O performance.

Supercomputer users who end the use of the supercomputer service at the end of FY2023
are required to back up their files themselves.
They will not be able to login to the system after the service termination,
however, file migration (scp, sftp) will be available until the end of May.

6. Request for submitting user reports of the supercomputer systems（Reposting）
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
Please report your published research results such as papers
(including abstracts of conference presentations) which you have obtained
by using the Large Scale Computer Systems of ACCMS in this fiscal year
in one of the following ways.
Please report unpublished papers as soon as they are published.

7. 【ACCMS Seminar】"A New World Opened up by Computational and Information Science and Earth Science"（Reposting）
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
ACCMS holds monthly seminars inviting researchers who are active in variety of fields
to give talks about their research activity or current issues
and provide an opportunity to discuss them with participants.
At ACCMS Seminar on May 21, 2024, we will invite Assoc. Prof. Hiromichi Nagao of
the University of Tokyo and Prof. Yukihiro Takahashi
of Hokkaido University to give talks.
We are looking forward to your participation from both inside and outside
of the university.
