Install PuTTY by following [Installing PuTTY](/install/putty). 2. Generate a public/private key pair by following [Generating Key Pair and Registering Public Key](/login/pubkey), and register the public key via [the User Portal](http://www.iimc.kyoto-u.ac.jp/en/services/comp/other/portal.html). ## How to Log In{#procedure} 1. Start up PuTTY. 2. At the PuTTY Configuration window, select the **Session** tab as (1) shown below. 3. In the Host Name (or IP address) input box as (2) shown below, enter the host name corresponding to the system you wish to log in. | System | Host Name | Notes | ------------ | ----------------------------- | ----------------------------------------------------------------------- | A | ```camphor.kudpc.kyoto-u.ac.jp``` | Two login nodes help distribute the load.This is available for the system A users only. | B | ```laurel.kudpc.kyoto-u.ac.jp``` | Three login nodes help distribute the load. |B(with SAS)|```sas.kudpc.kyoto-u.ac.jp``` || | C (Cinnamon2) | `cinnamon.kudpc.kyoto-u.ac.jp` | You can login to the same login nodes as the system B with automatically loaded the environment for the system C. 4. Select the **SSH** in the Connection type as (3) shown below. ![](putty_login_01new_2en.png) 5. Select the **SSH** tab as (1) shown below, and then select the **Auth** tab as (2) shown below. 6. Click the **Browse** as (3) shown below next to the **Private key file for authentication** input box, specify the private key file you previously created by following Generating Key Pair and Registering Public Key. ![](putty_login_02new_2en.png) 6. Select the **Session** tab as (1) shown below. Enter your arbitrary name in the **Saved Session** as (2) shown below and click **Save** as (3) shown below, and log-in URL and the private key settings are saved. You can log in to the supercomputer only by double-clicking the **Saved Session** from the next time. ![](putty_login_02new_3en.png) 7. Click the **Open** as (4) shown below. A separate window appears as shown below. At first log-in to the supercomputer system, the PuTTY Security Alert window appears. Confirm the alert message and click **Yes**. 8. Enter your user ID of supercomputer system next to the **login as:** as (1) shown below, and then press ENTER. 9. Enter your private key’s passphrase as (2) shown below, and then press ENTER. Your passphrase is not displayed. 10. When the log-in is successful, you will see a shell prompt with **your user ID @ host name~** as (3) shown below. ![](putty_login_03.png)
