It also makes changing the environment settings easy when switching between different versions of applications. For details, see [Modules](/config/modules). It can create finite element models and display their analysis results. ### Software Features{#functions} Marc Mentat allows the user to interactively create and edit input data of Marc. It also displays analysis results of Marc. ### Areas of Application{#app_area} * Aerospace * Heavy industry * Automobile * Electronics, electron * Construction * Medical care, etc. ## How to Use{#usage} ### Setting Up Environment (Executing the module Command){#env_set} Set up the environment by using the module command. (The module file you want is loaded.) ```nohighlight $ module load marc ``` ### Starting Up Marc Mentat{#start} To start Marc Mentat, enter the following command in the [Exceed onDemand](/login/eod). For details of **xrun** , see [Interactive Processing](/run/interactive). ```nohighlight $ xrun mentat ``` ![](mentat_example_01.png) Click **Quit** in the **File** menu of the menu bar, prompt says “SAVE & QUIT,” select **Yes** to exit Marc Mentat. #### Use parallel calculation{#parallel} 1. When executing xrun, specify the number of parallel threads by -A option. ex1) use 4 parallel threads ```nohighlight $ xrun -A t=4:c=4 mentat ``` ex2) use 4 parallel threads and 10G memory ```nohighlight $ xrun -A t=4:c=4:m=10G mentat ``` 2. Also in the GUI window, before running a job, specify the number of threads. [Right click your job]->[Run]->[Solver/Parallelization]->[Multiple Threads(two places)] (type "4" to specify 4 parallel) ![](mentat_parallel.png) Note that the Multiple Threads settings in "Matrix Solver" (the lower side of picture) is effective for the following types of solver.
