Modules software package dynamically adjusts the environment settings for using applications, by using the module command. It also makes changing the environment settings easy when switching between different versions of applications. For details, see Modules.

You can see the list of module files available by using the module avail command.

Msc.Marc Mentat is an interactive pre- and post-processor dedicated to MSC.Marc. It can create finite element models and display their analysis results.

Marc Mentat allows the user to interactively create and edit input data of Marc. It also displays analysis results of Marc.

Set up the environment by using the module command. (The module file you want is loaded.)

$ module load marc

To start Marc Mentat, enter the following command in the Exceed onDemand. For details of xrun , see Interactive Processing.

$ xrun mentat

Click Quit in the File menu of the menu bar, prompt says “SAVE & QUIT,” select Yes to exit Marc Mentat.

  1. When executing xrun, specify the number of parallel threads by -A option.

ex1) use 4 parallel threads

$ xrun -A t=4:c=4 mentat

ex2) use 4 parallel threads and 10G memory

$ xrun -A t=4:c=4:m=10G mentat
  1. Also in the GUI window, before running a job, specify the number of threads.

[Right click your job]->[Run]->[Solver/Parallelization]->[Multiple Threads(two places)] (type "4" to specify 4 parallel)

Note that the Multiple Threads settings in "Matrix Solver" (the lower side of picture) is effective for the following types of solver. The parallelization in "Matrix Solver" cannot be specified for the other solvers.
